How to Gain New Fans and Followers in Social Media for Business

A few tips I've compiled along the way to help others looking to gain new fans and followers in Business Social Media
·      Collaborate to build new content up with several solid mixed use posts to begin to appear in the “recent news feeds” & eventually “top newsfeeds” of our current followers, and so there is recent content for new fans we invite to view

·      Tweet content of interest & be re-tweeted

·      Follow others twitter users that are of interest to our group and who are in your geographic areas

·      Re-tweet others’ content that is appealing and/or of interest to your current followers, then might return the favor a d re-tweet you in return potentially

·      Get multiple influential users to invite all of their friends to become fans of your page

·      Start LinkedIn discussions or follow others to get acclimated on what topics are trending and of good social presence and validity, don't be boring

·      Follow others who are highly active users

·      Leverage all the other things you may already be doing; pull from lists already generated and fan bases already created on other pages of interest to you
o   Check out all your communities, email lists, websites and any other place you have a digital presence
o   Call them to action to join your fan page
o   Add links to your blog sidebar,
o   Put a CTA (Call to Action) on the homepage of your website,
o   Add links in employee emails and on your email signature
o   Put links in your email marketing
o   Incorporate it in your print and other media collateral
o   Continue to leverage what you have to further instigate growth until it’s growing organically.

·      Continually update your Facebook page and tweet with new content or links to other content such as engaging videos.
o   The more relevant content your page or tweet stream has, the more content for users to interact with. Users consistently engaging with content are a key component to growth.  By reaching into the streams of individual users your brand can start to grow fast if your content is worth reacting to, even if it means it has potential for hot topic sentiments or has an edge or even slight controversy! If you take a bit of risk, you might find that it'll pay off for you in increasing your presence, awareness, brand positioning, etc.
